Caught up, but still behind: Easter

I'm sorry. What with uni and being super distracted by the other blog I've been writing on, this is slipping a little. I aim to mend my wicked ways, though.

The other blog, by-the-way, is a collaborative effort of my sisters and myself. My sister Morag is the brains behind it though. But you should check it out: http://ragtradesisters.blogspot.co.uk/

So, after Passover (remember that post?), we celebrated Easter. The Whitney's (the missionary couple) invited us to their flat for an Easter meal, which was really nice. Rachel, Mercy, Dovile, Ijeoma and I were invited. And Easter this year happened to fall on Ijeoma's birthday! It was so nice to celebrate with her, and she was very appreciative, and said she would otherwise just have gone back to her flat after church and been alone for the day!

With Mercy. I love the stripey wall in the Whitney's flat.

Oops! I missed a couple: Part Two

Well, every Saturday Rachel works at a pharmacy in Alexandria (a town very near Loch Lomond). I went there a few weeks back to visit her & have lunch. After we had lunch, I wandered around a bit & took pictures. It's somehow a sad little town.

Gnarled trees and bare branches.

Snow dusted roots.

Spring and snow.

Oops! I missed a couple: Part One

I don't know how I missed out on some events prior to Passover. I feel I must go back before I forget entirely. I mean, I DO take a ridiculous amount of photos when I'm out-and-about, ostensibly for my blog. So they should REALLY be for my blog.

So, prior to Easter weekend, I met up with Spring (heavily pregnant at the time), Lars, and Lars' mother Kathy, to go antiquing (or vintaging, which I think should be a new term - and perhaps it already is!). Kathy had come to Glasgow to help out when Spring had her baby. Kathy has her own delightful blog as well, which you should check out: http://rubylemons.blogspot.co.uk/

In any case, we went down Ruthven Lane (just off fashionable Byres Road) and crept in and out a whole maze of antique and vintage shops. It was quite fun.

Look at this foxy fellow in the pink!

Detail of an old fireplace. It was quite rusty, but the tiles were gorgeous!

A wider view of the fireplace.

A fox stole! Look at his sad wee face!

Easter Weekend: Passover

Rachel and I were quite busy the weekend of Easter. On Thursday we had Dovile & Mercy over for a Passover Seder. On Friday, Dovile came again to watch a film with us (Life is Beautiful), and then on Easter Sunday we had a lovely meal at the Whitney's, and celebrated Ijeoma's birthday. But first off, Passover.

Dovile & Mercy had never celebrated Passover before, and loved the seder. It is full of beauty, and I was pleased that they responded so well to it.

Spring daffodils and candles.

Getting ready for the seder.

We were missing a lamb shank, but I think we had everything else.
